IF 6 WAS 9In 1996 East London Mods Alex Banks and Christopher Lord formed the Art Gallery DJ Collective - featuring Lady Michelle, Flaz, Cess and ex-PPQ DJ Graeme Very - to spin a mix of 60's Soul, Beat and Psych.
Their debut night was the Beat Bubble Ball at Chinatown speakeasy The Clinic. They followed this up with a stint guesting at Paul Hallam's Popcorn night at the 100 Club on Oxford Street.
In 1997 Art Gallery returned to the Clinic and for the next five years ran the now-legendary Lordy Lord! - a club night famous for its top tunes, and for being hot, sweaty and packed to the rafters every month. Check out Noonday Underground's 'London' promo video on You Tube for a taster of how the club was back then!
Art Gallery launched their clothing range in 1999. The rest is history.
